National Film Awards: Sridevi awarded posthumously for 'Mom',Newton  awarded  best Hindi film

A 10-member jury headed by Shekhar Kapoor and the panel includes screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and many more on Friday announced the 65th National Film Awards at the PIB Conference Room, Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. The award ceremony for the 65th National Film Awards will be held on May 3. 

Late actor Vinod Khanna will be conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke award for lifetime achievement. Jury member Usha Kiran said that 15 names were considered for the honour, and Khanna was not 'just a fine actor but also a gentleman'.

Sridevi won the best actress award posthumously for Mom. Riddhi Sen bagged the award for Best Actor for his performance in Bengali film Nagarkirtan. Divya Dutta won Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in film Irada. The best supporting actor has been given to Fahad Fazil for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. 

Newton has been awarded the best Hindi film. 

 Yesudas has been named the best male playback award for "Poy Maranja Kalam" in the movie Viswasapoorvam Mansoor. The award for best female playback award has been given to Shashaa Tirupati for "Vaan" in  Kaatru Veliyidai.  Best Director award has been given to Jayaraj for Malayalam film Bhayanakam.
