US President Donald Trump's ex-White House strategist Steve Bannon has made an official exit from Breitbart News, which is the conservative news outlet, following his recent controversy over the incendiary comments he made about the President in a new book, as announced this week.
Reportedly, certain remarks used in the book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" an explosive behind the scenes that raised questions of the president's fitness for office, have led to a public brawl with Trump.
Mr. Bannon, thereafter, has been abandoned by financial patrons and condemned by erstwhile political allies and also ridiculed by Trump himself over his comments. Bannon did not deny making the comments but has since tried to walk back.
He stated to the media: "I am proud of what the Breitbart team has so far accomplished in such a short period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”
Breitbart CEO Larry Solov, on the other hand, stated that Steve was a valuable part of the legacy, and they will always be grateful for his contributions which have helped them accomplish."
A news site showed that Bannon and Breitbart will work together on a smooth and orderly transition. Bannon has been serving as Breitbart's executive chairman since 2012. During his tenure at the White House, he took a notable leave of absence from his duties with the news outlet.
