Back To Back 7 Features of Whatsapp Which You want to know

The Facebook-owned messaging platform, Whatsapp has been seen announcing exciting new updates and features aggressive lately. The app has made several tweaks this year to further enhance the experience and the way you communicate with the screen while using chat.

1.    Pinned Chats feature:

The Pinned Chats feature which has been introduced for both iPhone and Android users,  allow pinning chats of up to three contacts on top of rest of the conversations.

Users can simply tap and hold (Android) or swipe right (iOS) a chat, and then tap the pin icon from the options to pin it at the top of your screen.

2.    Picture-in-picture (PiP)

Picture-in-picture allow users on both iOS and Android platform to conveniently continue their text chats on a video call and at the same time shift to browsing through your texts on the app.

"Picture-in-picture" features works by minimising the video call screen into a small window that floats over the mobile screen. After resizing the video call, the screen will appear at one side of the mobile screen, while the background will be that of the chat box.

For Android users, this multitasking feature can be used with another app running on full screen. Whether this functionality will make its way to Apple iOS devices as well is still uncertain.

3.   Ability to queue messages on iPhone:

While this feature was available on Android for a while it was a big miss for iPhone users as it prevented them to send messages at all in areas of poor or no connectivity. After the introduction of the Ability to queue messages on iPhone, it now enables the user to send and queue Whatsapp messages to a group/individual even when connectivity is unavailable. The message thus is sent automatically once the device gets connectivity again.

4.    Delete for Everyone

The new feature on WhatsApp is highly useful for those who might accidentally send a message to someone or perhaps message the wrong person.  It allow users to delete already sent messages which includes text, photos, videos, and more sent within a 7 minutes timeframe

The WhatsApp Delete for Everyone feature is simple to use. You can select the message and tap the delete icon. The user will receive a notification saying “You deleted this message.” and the recipient would also receive a text  as: “This message was deleted.”

5.    WhatsApp Live Location:

This feature enables users to track their friend’s exact location in real time. The WhatsApp live location sharing works for short-term and users have the authority to control all the angle related to whom, when and for how long the location is visible to the recipient.

This will be a brilliant method for friends and family to track you if you are expected somewhere or are on a trip and moreover to tell friends and family where you are and if you are safe.

This ‘Share Live Location’ feature is available in the chat window under ‘Location’ in the ‘Attachment’ button, you will now find the new option to Now select the duration for which you want to share and tap send.

6.    WhatsApp Status: Reintroduction of Text Status

One of the most popular features on the app is the WhatsApp Status. Earlier you could only put up a text message as your status but after the introduction of the new, Snapchat like Status feature on its 8th birthday, support for the old Text Status feature was ended. This created a huge criticism from the users, because of which the feature was then brought back.

So now users can use video, GIF, photo as well as plain text as there Whatsapp status.

7.    WhatsApp Media sharing:

Recently, WhatsApp increased the media file sending limit from 10 to 30 on all versions.

The company have also enabled all type of file sharing options on its platform. Now from MP3 to APK files, you can send anything to your contacts via the messenger. However, there is a limit to the size of the file that you can share which varies across platforms. The file sharing limit for iOS will be at 128MB, 64MB for Web, and 100MB for Android.
