Supreme Court convicts ex-UP Chief Secretary Neera Yadav in Noida land scam

Conviction of Neera Yadav, former UP chief Secretary and Rajiv Kumar, former IAS officer in Noida land allotment scam that took place between the years 1993-95 has been upheld by the Supreme Court.
A bench of Justices R Banumathi and Kurian Joseph upheld Allahabad High Court’s order convicting both the officials in the corruption case however, reduced the quantum of verdict of three years awarded by HC to two years.
Challenging order of Allahabad High Court for convicting her, Yadav had moved to Supreme Court.
Sentenced for three years imprisonment, Yadav was convicted in two cases in the Noida land scam.
In 2012, a CBI court in Ghaziabad had convicted senior IAS officer Rajeev Kumar and Yadav in a Noida plot scam that took place between 1994 and 1995 and sentenced both of them to three years' custody. Neera Yadav was the CEO of Noida Authority at then and Rajiv Kumar was her deputy.
