JNU cancel two events

In order to maintain prosperity and communal harmony in the campus, Jawaharlal Nehru University has decided to cancel the scheduled events on Babri Masjid and Ram Janmbhoomi which included a speech by BJP leader and renowned economist Subramanian Swamy on Ram Mandir. The politician was invited by the Vivekanand Vichar Manch, the same group who had previously organized the event to “salute legendary fighter and martyrs” of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. However, the senior warden’s notice to cancel the events didn’t please the students much. Geeta Kumari, President of the JNUSU, alleged the decision to cancel their event as “censorship”.  She further added that the University has been organizing the same programme every year. This year due to certain issues and claims by few students, the events remain canceled.
