India and Russia plan their first Tri-Service Drill this October
India's largest military equipment supplier is now planning to become it’s Wargames partner too! With an aim to expand the military tie of two countries, India and Russia are set to hold a Tri-Service Drill this October in Vladivostok, Russia. As indicated by top Indian defense ministry sources, this will be the first time when these two nations will conduct a tri-service drill with each other, ramping up the military ties of three major forces, Army, Air Force and Navy of both the friendly countries. India has earlier been doing the joint drill of three forces together internally though, but this time India will do this Tri-Service Drill ‘Indra’, with another country. Another unique feature will be that for the first time ever in the history of joint exercises, land forces will be using equipment like T-90 Tanks, Naval Warships, Sukhoi- 30MKI, and IAF Fighter Jets. With the conduction of this high level joint military exercise between the two countries, Indo-Russian relationships are slated to become better and stronger in future. The exercises are being seen more as a diplomatic move than only a simple military exercise. To make the drill successful, the militaries of both the countries have been rehearsing with each other for a long time. A final delegation of the two sides will soon meet to finalize the finer points of the ‘Indra’ WarGames. It is also believed that Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will also be visiting Russia to take a look into the Tri- Service drill.
