Govt may consider hiking minimum pay from Rs. 18000 to Rs. 21000
According to a report, the Union Government employees may soon get good news on the long demanded minimum pay as the Ministry of Finance is to be expected to hike the minimum pay from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 21,000 under the 7th Pay Commission.
When the Union Cabinet in June had approved the implementation of 7th Pay Commission, that time, the Finance Ministry had fixed minimum pay at Rs. 18,000 bearing in mind the fitment formula at 2.57. And now, the central government may approve to raise fitment factor to 3 times.
However, as per a report, the central government employees unions were asking for 3.68 fitment formula.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as per reports has promised to hike the least pay of central government employees over Rs. 18,000. The decision of hiking the minimum pay in the government’s view will help the low paid employees and eliminate poverty.
